Carolyn Ortega

Carolyn A. Ortega, Business Manager – Carolyn currently holds the position of Business Manager of Atrisco Oil & Gas LLC.  Her affiliation with Atrisco extends beyond her employment position; however, as her children are unitholders of the Atrisco Oil & Gas, LLC.  Carolyn is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the Organization. 

In addition to her accounting responsibilities, she manages all unitholder services and serves as the liaison between unitholders and the Company’s transfer agent, Mellon Bank.  Prior to this role Carolyn was a Sr. Accountant for Gap Inc. Corporate Service Center, she supervised 9 Staff Accountants and her group was responsible for saving the Gap over $8 million in 2006.  Prior to joining Gap Inc. Carolyn was a Sr. Auditor with KPMG where she was involved in piloting an Internal Audit Assurance Service; her largest clients were the Department of Energy, Bernalillo County and UNM Hospital.  During her time with KPMG she was also primary caregiver for her mother who had Lou Gehrig’s disease.  KPMG awarded Carolyn with both the local and National Award for Community Volunteerism.  Carolyn’s career in Accounting began at Westland Development Co., Inc. where she began as a part-time receptionist and worked her way to bookkeeper and Accountant.  During the 7 years she was with Westland, Carolyn attended University of Phoenix and obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.  Carolyn previously served as a Board Member and Scholarship Committee Chair for the IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) and is currently the Board President of the ALSA-NM (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association of New Mexico, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease).  She has been affiliated with the ALSA-NM since 2001.  She was Acknowledged as a “Woman Pioneering the Future” by Congresswoman Heather Wilson.  In Carolyn’s “spare time” she enjoys spending time with her husband and watching her children play soccer and softball.
